This is another painting of where I grew up at, in downtown Prattville, AL, with one of my best friends on the blanket, creek-watching with me. We'd always ask each other, summer after summer, "Wanna go down by the creek?" This title only felt like a natural response to this painting. So many hours spent watching the creek run by, so many hours talking and experiencing life together. Both the picture and painting feel warm and nostalgic to me; the perfect light shining through the trees, the vibrant lush grass, the feeling of a shared memory. It also makes me long for summertime again! If you are from the South, you know this craved feeling of a simple and slow evening, being completely enveloped in nature. I really do love everything about this one!
